The Val Senales Glacier
Place where they found Ötzi
The Schnals Valley is known as the place where Ötzi lived and was found. Thanks to the eternal ice and coincidence, Ötzi's remains have been preserved for later generations. Whether on the glacier, where the Iceman Ötzi Peak bows to the panorama, or in the valley in Kurzras, where a shepherds' festival is held every year to celebrate the return of the sheep. The Schnals Valley lets you celebrate ancient traditions and follow Ötzi's footsteps, taste regional ingredients, discover natural treasures and follow your thirst for adventure. All year round! The special thing: Pleasantly cool in summer, deep snow in winter. The glacier comprises 42 kilometres of sunny pistes at an altitude of 2,000 to 3,200 metres.More information

Sledging around Cermes
Sledging pass for grown-ups and kids
Sledging has a long tradition in South Tyrol. At many places, natural chutes wind down into valleys, and they are easily reachable by ski resort lifts. Through woods and meadows. Some steep and twisty, some mild and suitable for the whole family. In the Merano 2000 family ski resort, skid sportsmen can also enjoy the “Alpin Bob” rail toboggan run. On the Schnalstal glacier, the longest sledging trail extending over 3,5 km provides for a genuine fun in snow. Sledge can be rented in all ski rental shops and some neighbouring inns.
